The street style scene is a place where early adopters are always testing out the upcoming trends, and Couture Fashion Week in Paris was no exception. There, fashion insiders were already spotted wearing some of the biggest trends that will dominate for spring 2020.

Ahead, I’m highlighting seven major spring trends that I spotted on the streets of Paris—from the bag style that we’re predicting will be huge this year to the bold color that will be everywhere to the sunglasses that will make you rethink the ones you’re wearing. Go on to see how the style set is wearing spring trends ahead of the pack and shop my edit of pieces to add to your closet. Sure, spring is technically still a few months away, but that doesn’t mean it’s too early to start test-driving some of the biggest trends for the upcoming season.

The croissant bag trend is one that will dominate 2020, and we're already starting to see evidence of it on the street style scene. The slouchy top-handle bags have a ton of momentum at the beginning of the year, and I expect we'll be seeing plenty more of them moving into spring.
Every season, there's a color that stands out among the rest, and for spring it will be tangerine. We're already seeing small nods to the bold shade, like a pop of color with the collared shirt in an otherwise neutral outfit here. As we move into spring, fashion insiders will be committing to the color in head-to-toe looks.
The '90s continues to be a huge point of inspiration for designers, but this season sportswear will specifically come into focus. Throwback sneakers and baseball hats will be in-demand accessories that are already getting the fashion insider stamp of approval.
Recently, chic two-tone pieces have been dropping from cool designers like A.W.A.K.E. Mode and Manu Atelier, and I'm predicting we'll be seeing more of this micro-trend emerge in the coming months.
Suiting has been a trend we've seen for many seasons now, but it will continue to command the street style scene in 2020. We'll be seeing pinstripes, tuxedo jackets, and short suits emerge, but also boxy oversize fits, which were all over the streets of Paris during Couture Fashion Week.
Dresses over pants are a trend that was championed on the S/S 20 runways by designers including Khaite, Brock Collection, and Marina Moscone. Already, we're seeing interpretations on the street style scene, like Lauren Santo Domingo's look here with a button-down dress layered on top of black trousers.
It might be time to retire your small sunglasses. Instead, we'll be seeing a return to oversize, '70s-inspired frames, which were spotted on the S/S 20 runways at Prada, Gucci, and Fendi. Yep, this is the next big "grandma" trend that will be everywhere in 2020.
