When Kevin Spacey was revealed as a sexual predator with a decades-long history of disturbing behavior, most people figured Netflix’s House of Cards had played its last hand. After all, the actor was the undisputed face of the show and with his name quickly becoming as toxic as you can get, it was hard to see how the streaming service would be able to carry on with it.

Thankfully, Robin Wright, who plays the steely Claire Underwood, fought to keep the show alive and though it wasn’t easy, she succeeded in convincing Netflix to put together one last season. Now, the final run of the hit series is quickly approaching its November premiere and looks to mark a major change from previous years, as Claire’s set to take center stage in the absence of Frank Underwood, who’s been written out of the story.

But Frank’s loss is Claire’s gain, as we see in today’s new trailer, with the new President making herself right at home in the White House. Though not terribly long, this latest preview teases some juicy material to come and prepares us for what’ll no doubt be an explosive ending to one of Netflix’s most accomplished shows. It’s a shame that it has to come to a close, but at least it looks like they’ll be going out on a high.

In Spacey’s place, the cast for season 6 of House of Cards is being filled out with two new actors, Academy Award nominees Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear who will play Annette and Bill Shepherd, described as sharing “a vision for the future of America, as well as a complicated past with the Underwoods.” The rest of the principal players – namely, Michael Kelly, Jayne Atkinson, Patricia Clarkson and Constance Zimmer – will also be back for more.

House of Cards returns to Netflix on November 2nd for one last run of eight episodes, as we finally get to see what Claire Underwood does while sitting in the big chair.
