LATEST FASHION
Now that New York and London fashion weeks have come and gone, the fashion world has turned its sights on the third destination of fashion month: Milan. With iconic fashion houses like Prada, Fendi, and Valentino showing their S/S 21 collections this week, there's a lot of quintessential Italian glam to be had on and off the runways. Speaking of the latter, we have the photographer behind The Style Stalker snapping the best looks throughout the week, and the street style scene has been flooded with several noteworthy new trends.
When we took note of the oversized fringe on Bottega Veneta's fall runway back in February, we bookmarked it as a trend that could potentially take off. Sure enough, the street style in Milan this season is making our runway predictions a reality IRL. Whether it's a fringe-trimmed handbag or an embellished jacket, XL fringe is officially the latest It trend to watch.
If you follow our trend coverage already, you'd know that rubber boots are very much happening and the street style during Milan fashion only further illustrates the fashion crowd's obsessed with the all-weather stompers.
Leather always feels especially right for fall, and the street style set in Milan captured some of the best ways to wear leather pieces right now: separates and especially outerwear. Leather blazers, trench coats, and skirts galore flooded the cobblestone streets of Italy's fashion capital solidifying our love for the trend for good.
Ready for a new color trend? Well, prepare for the latest hue, tan camel, to rise to fame. This neutral is best when styled in a head-to-toe monochrome look, hence our cheeky name camel-flage. We're even going so far as to say that camel-colored dressing will take the place of "stick of butter" dressing.
Amidst a sea of neutral tones, we're delighted to see this unexpected color trend bubble up. It's all about color-blocking with bold, bright hues and some of the combinations we're seeing in Milan right now include cherry red with fuchsia and deep indigo with berry. An instant mood-booster, we can only expect to see more of this fun-loving outfit trend.
Next, check out the six beautiful basics flooding the streets of London.
