Cardi B and Zendaya are living in a “Crazy Reality” on the double cover of CR Fashion Book. The rapper and actress interview one another for the 12th edition of Carine Roitfeld’s magazine.
In her first fashion editorial ever, shot by Petra Collins, the “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker goes full glam, rocking long black hair and Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent, Paco Rabanne, and more. One cover finds her with hands up in a vulnerable stance, while the other is more sensual, with the Grammy-nominated MC in mid-twerk, both hands positioned on her thighs.
Speaking with Zendaya, Cardi opens up about how wealth has changed her life in drastically different ways. “My family, whatever they want, they get. Everything that I want to buy, I can get. I don’t have to worry so much about my future,” she said. “…Even though I’m happy, I feel like I was a little bit happier two or three years ago when I had less money. I had less people who had opinions about my life. I felt like my life was mine. Now I feel like I don’t even own my life. I feel like the world owns me.”

Elsewhere, Bardi talks about expanding her horizons, stepping into film and fashion. “I really want to accomplish more records, more Billboard hits,” she said. “I might want to get into acting or designing clothes…My real goal is to have beautiful kids, a beautiful mansion, and do business that makes me money until the day I die. Then be able pass it on to my children.”
Zendaya, who was photographed by Mario Sorrenti, appears in two covers of her own. One is a conceptual character with dramatic hair and makeup, a plastic bag draped around her. The other is a more simple, toned-down portrait.
“There is definitely ‘hood’ in me and it will never leave,” Zendaya tells Cardi. “It’s part of who I am, as it is part of my family. I was born and raised in Oakland, all my family is from there…and they’re not from the Oakland Hills, we are from the hoods of Oakland. It’s something that I’m proud of and I’m lucky to be where I’m from. My aunties held Black Panther party meetings in the downstairs basement of our house that I grew up in.”
Issue 12 of CR Fashion Book hits newsstands March 1.
