Fabolous and Jadakiss go from frightful to soulful in the heartwarming black-and-white video for their “Soul Food” collaboration off Friday on Elm Street.
Directed by Gerard Victor, the visual tells two different but similar tales about friendship. First, Fab’s son spots his friend at his father’s food drive and invites him over. Next, Jada’s son invites his friend, who just came home from prison, home for dinner. The guys keep it all in the family as the clip stars Loso’s son, Johan Jackson, and Jada’s son, Jaewon Phillips.
The moving “Soul Food” video follows the scary theme of “F vs. J Intro,” which found Fab taking on the role of Freddy Krueger while Jada played the part of Jason Voorhees.
“Soul Food” has proven to be quite the standout from the album. In December, the duo dropped the French Montana and Chinx-assisted remix, while Dave East revamped the track for himself as part of his “East Mix” series.
Following years of teasers, Loso and ‘Kiss finally teamed up on Friday on Elm Street, a joint project inspired by Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street.
