LATEST FASHION

I write about fashion, a lot. But despite the illusion that fashion editors are constantly making orders with a full wardrobe of amazing clothes, in reality, my shopping habits are much more prudent. This month, however, has been much different. During the height of the season, I very much fell into the "a closet full of clothes with nothing to wear" trap, so I decided that a mini overhaul was in order. There were a few trends that I was interested in test driving—like tie-waist tops and Y2K-style pants— as well as a few staple pieces I've had saved in my mental mood board for years. Let's just say I went a little haywire with the buy button: my fingers cramped from constantly typing out my card information and I got to know my UPS delivery man on a first name basis. A lot of boxes came my way, but not everything I bought made the cut. There were some duds, but the try-on process is all in the game of fashion, right? If you're anxious to see what I ordered—good because ahead I'm sharing all the items that I ended up buying (and actually kept) this month. From cool sneakers that are bubbling up among the fashion crowd, to "new classics" from emerging designers, keep reading to see what made my "keep" pile.
For some time I've been a fan of New York-based jewelry Laura Lombardi, and this glimmering gold necklace has been a go-to for all of my outfits.
After trying this on I was surprised by how expensive it looked. If you're due for a seaside vacation, I'm just letting you know that you absolutely need this.
I love a limited drop! This one from Wales Bonner is in collaboration with artist and musician Laraaji and includes a small run of 60 t-shirts. Fortunately there's still a few left in stock, with a portion of the proceeds going to NGO, Care India.
Lately, I've been exploring beyond the traditional sneaker brands to find interesting styles that will spice up my athleisure looks. Salomon popped on my radar after spotting the XT-4s on a few figures I follow on IG. They're slowly gaining more attention among fashion people, but still obscure enough that you won't feel like everyone else.
Oops—I bought two pairs. Unlike the XT-4s these are more suitable for casual activity than intense hiking. The black sole also looks so elevated.
Chunky hoop earrings are one of my staple jewelry pieces, and I'm so into the
How good is this color?! The material is a bit slinky so I'd advise wearing this with nipple covers or a seamless bra.
I'm obsessed with this brand.
I bought these in Navy and since they're on deep discount, I plan on buying them in Khaki too. The high waist and loose cut are so flattering for pear or hourglass shapes.
When I want to try an emerging footwear trend on the cheap, Amazon is typically one of the first places I look.
One area I needed to address for my closet: cute summer tops. The halter neckline is really fun and the gathered waist adds a little something that makes this feel elevated.
Some advice: get this while it's on sale! Since I bought this top I wear it at least once a week.
Since more events have been piling on my agenda, a comfortable, chic pair of heels are in order. I wore these for almost six hours straight, with a lot of that time spent standing, and I'm happy to report my feet survived.
It's always savvy to keep a few Reformation dresses for the influx of wedding invites and party events. How interesting is this blue leopard print?
This isn't something I'd usually go for, but I'm so happy I did. The shiny satin material really adds a dose of sophistication to a pair of jeans or shorts.
Since its release, I've been into Marine Serre's interpretation of the moon print. I found it on sale at Ssense, (sadly it's out of stock) but this top is still available at Matches.
All of my summer camp experiences have culminated in the beaded jewelry trend. I'm not sure if this will be something I'll wear forever, but at $20 I feel less guilty about it.
For under $40, you really can't find a cuter dress.
These feel like butter on the skin, so you already know I had to buy a few more pairs.
The Helmut Lang fan in me jumped out.
Until I save up for my dream Loewe sunglasses, these will do.
These look so good with sweatpants and an oversized tee.
Whenever I'm in need of flattering trousers, Aritzia is at the top of my list. Finding good pants isn't an easy task for someone with a bigger butt and hips, but the retailer's Babaton brand always has options that come in clutch.
This silhouette has been trending this summer, so of course always eager to try out something new, I gave it a spin. This shade of lime really gets people's attention.
